KNIGHT FOUNDATION COMMITS $2.5M FOR PUBLIC MEDIA INNOVATION

Grants using the Public Media Accelerator (http://publicmediax.org/) will support entrepreneurs with innovative ideas for strengthening the impact of public media. To be launched in March 2012 and operated by Public Media Exchange (http://www.prx.org/), the project will bolster public media’s role and provide funding for the development of apps, services, and media products. Institute of Museum and Library Services funds for Learning Labs in Libraries and Museums

Due Date: August 15. Up to $100K for libraries, museums, nonprofit organizations, institutions of higher education to plan and design Learning Labs to engage middle- and high-school youth in mentor-led, interest-based, youth-centered, collaborative learning using digital and traditional media.
