Grants up to $5K to support independent projects by contemporary and traditional artists and nonprofit arts managers from 37 eligible countries. Applicants must be citizens or currently reside in an eligible country. US artists and managers seeking to collaborate with international colleagues are encouraged to apply.

NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION CAPACITY-BUILDING GRANTS

October 14, 2014

Deadline: October 30.

With support from Toyota Motor Sales USA, NEEF will award capacity-building grants up to $5K to nonprofit, community-based organizations whose mission is to improve and promote the responsible use of a public land or water site. Groups may work at the federal, state, city, or local level; must have been in existence for at least two years; and must have a collaborative relationship with a local public lands site that has lasted for at least a year. Funds will support capacity-building purposes including strategic planning, leadership development, assessments, marketing and communications, and staff training.

Students will:

  • Study the Individual Artist Grant Package materials including resume, work samples, artist statement, bio, and budget;
  • Engage in a detailed discussion on how to write an Artist Statement;
  • Read and Study a sample Individual Artist Grant Application;
  • Learn the steps needed to write grants for non-profit organizations; and
  • Learn how to collaborate with non-profit “fiscal agents” to plan and present programs.

Participants will receive a WORKSHOP MANUAL will multiple tools and resources.

Linda Vallejo has over thirty years of experience as a development consultant, grantwriter and grantwriting instructor. She in an on-line grant instructor for Education2Go in for over 2,500 colleges and universities nationwide and presenting serves as a grantwriting consultant for 18th Street Arts Center in Santa Monica, CA.

A solo exhibition of her newest work “Make ‘Em All Mexican” is up at the Lancaster Museum of Art and History and has been presented at the Soto Clemente Velez Cultural Center (NY -2014), George Lawson Gallery (LA – 2013), University Art Gallery of New Mexico State University (2013), Arte Americas/Fresno Art Museum and California State University, San Bernardino, Fullerton Museum (2012).

Scholarships of up to $160K, plus advisors and networking services to high-achieving low-income high school students who seek to attend the nation’s best four-year colleges and universities. Applicants must plan to graduate from high school in Spring 2015 and enroll in an accredited four-year college in the fall; earn a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5+; receive a SAT combined math and critical reading score of 1200+, or an ACT composite score of 26+; and demonstrate unmet financial need.
